has over 18 years of business development and managerial experience ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. Prior to joining Leopard Capital, Akther was the President of New Emerging Markets at Microsoft. He also served as Vice President of Worldwide Alliances at TATA Consultancy Services and achieved exits at two VC-backed companies in Silicon Valley. He is an Investor and Board Member at Genweb2, a Bangladeshi software development firm, and serves as an adviser to an export-oriented shoe manufacturer and a leather exporter, both in Bangladesh. Akther received a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the Wharton Business School.

has over 26 years experience in emerging markets investments. In 1999 he founded Abacus Equity Partners which arranged and participated in several of Thailand’s most successful private equity investments. As Chief Investment Officer of Knight Asia Group, he helped manage Knight Pacific Fund. He also served as a senior executive at prominent securities firms such as CLSA. Douglas holds an MM from Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University and a BA (History) from Cornell University.
